Jeff Maggert’s Golf Swing

Maggert

Jeff Maggert was a consistent contender at the U.S. Open during the 1990s. In a 10-year period between 1994 and 2003, Maggert’s U.S. Open record was:

1994, T9
1995, T4
1996, T97
1997, 4
1998, T7
1999, T7
2000, Cut
2001, T44
2002, 3
2003, Cut
2004, 3

He also was a Ryder Cup player in 1995, 1997, and 1999.

Maggert has a beautifully efficient golf swing. He says he’s largely self-taught and doesn’t rely on a swing coach; when he’s struggling, he says he takes video of his swing and gives himself a lesson. That’s called “owning your swing.”

I saw Maggert on TV during the 2012 St. Jude Classic, and I had forgotten what a wonderful move he makes through the golf ball. I could watch that swing all day long.
