So Yeon Ru has just won the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open. There isn’t much Ryu video available yet (I’m sure that will change!) but the one below is excellent and reveals a sound, beautiful golf swing:

So Yeon Ru Golf Swing Characteristics

• Square stance at address

• Head moves behind the ball in the backswing

• Stays on plane for the entire swing

• Hips are open at impact

• Wonderful tempo

Brandel Chamblee, in the Golf Channel’s post-tournament coverage, said the thing that separates the Korean golfers from the rest of the world is their wonderful rhythm and tempo; their transitions from backswing to downswing don’t get quick when the pressure is on.
